Daqing Oilfield, one of China’s largest oil production hubs, announced on Friday that its natural gas output surpassed 6 billion cubic meters in 2024, marking steady growth for the 14th consecutive year.
According to the oilfield, this volume of natural gas is sufficient to meet the annual daily needs of 39 million three-person households.
The oilfield’s northeastern China base produced 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas last year, while its southwest China base contributed 1 billion cubic meters.
Discovered in 1959 in Heilongjiang Province, Daqing Oilfield has played a pivotal role in advancing China’s modern petroleum industry.
